On Wednesday, North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper announced that the state will remain in Phase 2 for another three weeks. He also issued a mandatory mask requirement for those in public spaces where physical distancing of six feet is not possible. This mandate goes into effect Friday at 5 P.M. There are a few exceptions, outlined in this FAQ.

What does this mean for your business?
The only big change here is that face coverings are now required in public spaces. All real estate activities are still allowed. If you can work virtually, you should. Here are some resources to help.

North Carolina’s COVID-19 eviction moratorium expires
Last week, the Governor decided not to extend EO142, allowing the stay on evictions to expire on Sunday, June 21. Here is a letter we received confirming the decision.
This impacts many of our property managers and landlords and is welcome news after months of conversations and work by our Government Affairs staff.
